I have a love for high end fashion, always have and always will. However, it is definitely not something I can afford to buy all the time! For today’s post, I thought I would share with you some of my tips for buying designer items at a lower price.
1. Buy Resale Items
I know this can seem like it defeats the excitement of buying a designer item, but it is a good way to buy a luxury good you’ve been eyeing without breaking the bank! One of my favorite websites to look at for buying used luxury items is LuxuryGarageSale. They will authenticate every item and describe the items condition perfectly. They even accept returns of unworn clothing or shoes which is great so if you don’t love it, you can send it back! LuxuryGarageSale also has popup shops, check out their website to see if you can find one near you! Ebay and Poshmark are another great place to shop for designer items! Even check your thrift stores! It’s rare to find a designer item there but if you keep your eyes out, you never know what you might find!
2. Discount Stores
TJ Maxx is a fun store to look for designer items at. However, I tend to find that I find more designer items online than I do in the actual brick and mortar stores! My other favorite stores to find discounted designer items at are Nordstrom Rack, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Saks Off Fifth Avenue and Gilt! For example, this coat I am wearing in the picture is from Nordstrom Rack! They always have great quality clothes for a cheaper price! There are so many online stores that sell designer items at a cheaper price than you would find at a department store. You just have to put the effort in to look!
3. Wait for Sales
Keeping an eye out for sales at department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom is a smart thing to do if you’re looking to buy a designer item. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is an amazing sale in the fall that shows the new fall merchandise at a discounted price. Even see if designer’s have sample sales going on! That’s another great way to get a designer item at a discounted price.
4. Explore all Your Options
Browse online. If you’re heart is set on a specific item, type that item into google and see what stores carry this item and what store you can get the lowest price at!
5. Shop Outlet Stores
This is pretty self explanatory, but outlet shopping is a great way to find deals on designer items.
Most importantly, make sure you spend your money on something you love. There’s no point in buying it if you’re not 100% in love with the item. One thing I’ve learned over the past few years is to invest in designer handbags, shoes, and jewelry because they will last a long time.
